** all quantities are approximate **
** spice to taste **
1/2 cup vinegar
1/4 cup Wesson oil
some Worcestershire sauce (tblsp or two)
Tobasco sauce (two or three dashes)
horseradish (1/4 cupish)
some salt (2 tsp or so)
some pepper (2 tsp or so)
some sugar (2 tblsp or so)
some accent (2 tsp or so)
pickled white onion (in jar by condiments)
sliced onion (one or two)
pickling spice (a lot)
shrimp - 2 lbs cleaned and peeled or so, 5 lbs not cleaned and peeled
bay leaf (whole jar)
white wine vinegar (1/2 cup for extra kick)
* Layer shrimp boiled and peeled
* Layer sliced onion on top of shrimp
* Layer bay leaf on top of shrimp and onion
* Cover with pickling spice
* Pour in mixture of vinegar and oils and spices and rest on top
* Put all in a bowl and leave in fridge for at least one day
* The only special note on this is not to follow this
recipe too closely, you gotta
"feel" this one out :)
And in my opinion, there's no better way to eat shrimp!
