Orange is the color of friendship lost but true,
come back to me because I’ll be here for you.
Green is the shade of birthday summer haze,
reconcile memory and while away our days.
Now red is the color of early budding spring,
romance in the air and little birds will sing.
And yellow is the color of falling to the ground,
cool and breezy air as the sweetest of sounds.
So blue is the color of little sister’s eyes,
‘n birds making messes in other people’s pies.
Now there are other colors but who cares about them,
They’re not as cool as purple blooming up from a stem.
Because purple is the color of picking out the blues,
or falling in love or finding a groove.
And purple is the color of the sweet and caring too,
but mostly it’s the color of passion.
