Chance

You look at some small part of me and judge me,
Tell me there's more than meets the eye,
I scoff at your impudence and effrontery,
A child knows that crap won't fly.
You can't judge a book by it's cover,
You can't know a person at a glance,
There's more to me to discover,
A person doesn't come into existence by chance.
But how arrogant are your presumptions,
That I want you to find out anything about me,
Who ever said you had that option,
Whoever said that I would agree?
Yeah I’m interesting, smart and sexy,
But you’ll never find out anything more,
Because you’re arrogant egotistical and smarmy,
And I’m too smart for what you had in store.
No I am not an Ice Queen.
No I’m not hard to please.
I just want someone who is genuine,
Not afraid to get down on one knee.
You tell me still waters run deep,
And you think you’ve said something with meaning,
When the truth is you don’t see reality,
You’re looking at the world while dreaming.
So how about you go your own way,
And leave me to the path that I’ve chosen,
The fact is you weren’t really interested in me,
And should’ve thought more about those words before you spoke them.
